It is with both pleasure and a heavy heart that we congratulate Bill Neff on his retirement from service manager here at Haven Harbour Marina.

Since his hiring, Bill has been an integral part of the Haven Harbour Yacht Services team. Having joined the company as an electronics technician and installer in 2004, he went on to fill the service department's management position in 2012 – an area he has maned rather adeptly ever since.

"I've lived on the water my entire life," said Bill. "I started working the docks at Georgetown [Yacht Basin] in 1984, and have remained in the industry since. It's always been about the customers and my staff over the years – treating everyone like a friend and building great working relationships has been a philosophy of mine."

Bill is a hands-on, proactive professional who cares for his staff and leads by example. Service Technician Taylor White, who will be stepping up to take on Bill's former responsibilities, speaks to his manager's character and on-the-job work ethic.

"Bill has a wide array of industry knowledge," said Taylor. "He's always friendly with customers and patient with the staff. It won't be easy, but I hope I'll be able to fill his shoes. He will be missed."

We bring this news of Bill's retiring with mixed emotions. Having to say goodbye to a member of our team so dedicated and experienced is never easy, but we know for certain that Bill's time with us will continue to play a role in the years to come.

"Bill has been a vital part of the growth of both the marina and service department," commented Director of Service Operations Greta Sommers. "Anyone who knows Bill knows that he will do anything for anyone. He is a great leader, teacher and mentor, and over the past couple of years he has guided us all on how to properly run and manage a successful yacht services team. I feel confident that we've had more than sufficient training to continue the great reputation that Haven Harbour holds – due in part to Bill's indispensable time here."

"After 17 years of dedicated service, Bill is stepping down to take a break from the hectic work of marine repairs and service," added General Manager Woody Loller. "During his time here, Bill has been instrumental in helping build and maintain a first-class service and repair department. We all wish him the very best."

Thank you Bill for your unwavering dedication, support and commitment, and cheers to the new adventures coming your way. You will be missed!

Editor's note: Bill Neff's last day as Haven Harbour Marina service manager will be next Friday, April 2. Technician Taylor White will take on his responsibilities. Any new emails to bill@havenharbour.com will be automatically forwarded to taylor@havenharbour.com beginning Monday, April 5.
