Haven Harbour steadily grows its team

The past several months have played witness to unprecedented growth in the staff of Haven Harbour's customer experience and yacht services teams. A pure product of demand, our most recent drive for hiring is one of many signs which point to the boating industry's strength and heightening popularity.

Among the newcomers are two additions to the marine store team who will be helping out between our Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South locations.

Mallory Brilz, born and raised here in Rock Hall, has had an inquisitive five-week start; learning all there is to know about our customers and marinas. Her three years of marine experience has been a welcomed bonus to our customer service efforts.

No stranger to boats nor Haven Harbour, Victoria Sunkler has transitioned from being a four-year server at Haven Harbour Marina's Passages Bar & Grill to head up a career in customer service.

"I'm excited to have Mallory and Victoria join us," said Marine Store Manager Crystal Beck. "With Mallory's parts background and Victoria's familiarity with our operation, I think they'll prove to be great additions to our store staff."

Our in-house yacht services department has also seen growth over recent weeks.

"This is an exciting time for our marinas and service departments," mentioned Greta Sommers, director of service operations. "We've been fortunate to add several new faces to the team, and our seasoned technicians have been an integral part of assisting the newcomers with learning the Haven Harbour way."

Hunter Johnson, an experienced lift operator and technician of 18 years, has joined Graeme Pratt, a general boatyard laborer, to assist in meeting increased service and repair demand at Haven Harbour South.

"Our staff is growing, and that's a good thing," said Ed Cecil, service manager at Haven Harbour South. "We aim to continue offering our customers here a first-class service experience, and new members to the team help us achieve that."

Haven Harbour Marina too has added several technicians and tradesmen to its ranks. Jared Newton, a mechanic, along with Jack Davis, a rigger and mechanic, and Curtis Heckert, an electrical specialist, will help ensure – alongside our veteran staff – the continued dependability of Haven Harbour's complete yacht service capabilities.

Rodger Wilder, also new to Haven Harbour, is making his mark on our lift crew – just in time for the fall haul.

Many of these new technicians have either just completed, or are actively enrolled in higher education courses in various marine trades. Haven Harbour is committed to investing in our technicians so that we may provide the highest level of service to our customers and guests.

As with the vessels of our patrons, the buildings and grounds of our properties require year-round care and consideration.

Helping carry out said facility upkeep is Kevin Dickerson, who will also assist in the boatyard and serve as a mechanic's apprentice. His first month on the job has been spent making much needed repairs and improvements in preparation for the winter ahead.

“We are thrilled to have been able to hire all of these employees during what continues to be a very tough labor market," explained Managing Director Charlie Petosa. "Many of our technicians have already started what will be a robust training and school program. We expect nothing less than a large and fully trained team to ensure a smooth 2022. Welcome aboard everyone!”

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to some of the new faces of Haven Harbour.
