Haven Harbour Yacht Services received editorial acclaim in the most recent edition of PropTalk Magazine. The regionally-distributed publication's August issue includes a five-page feature, the fourth and final installment of a developing story regarding the complete restoration of a 32' Legacy.

The thorough reports on the restoration, each written by one of PropTalk's contributing authors and the boat's owner Mike Pitchford, details the transformation of the vessel from, in Mike's words, "...an ugly duckling to the proverbial beautiful swan."

Mike entrusted many craftsman from across the Chesapeake Bay region to lend some needed TLC to the vessel. The painting of the hull was left to the in-house professionals at Haven Harbour.

"After consultations during the October [2019] boat shows, I chose Haven Harbour Marina to restore the hull with Flag Blue Awlcraft 2000," wrote Mike in his article. "This paint and color were intended to be the most significant visual step in the transition from neglected to Bristol."

After seeing the visual difference between the freshly painted hull and the stained gelcoat of the cabin house, Mike asked for the cleaning of these previously overlooked areas, followed by an aggressive compounding and waxing.

"It was Haven Harbour to the rescue again...," he wrote. "Hours of labor later we discovered that the gelcoat was actually a cream color, not sun-bleached white. Who knew?"

Launch and departure came in late June following a brief farewell photo-op with those who oversaw and carried out this leg of the Legacy's road to restored, now adorned with the name Winsome Winn.

With her shining new hull complete, Mike was off to his next appointment in the restoration process, inspiring us all to never overlook the potential in neglected things, and to standby through the trials and tribulations of breathing new life into the once forgotten.
